The Look of Love

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!

Love it, hate it or leave it, today we're painting the town pink...and red.

According to Kelly Wearstler, you should look to the colors in your closet when choosing colors to redesign your home. I wear lots of pink and I even love pink and red together, but unless you count the occasional flowers, you won't find any of it in my home. So in honor of Valentine's Day we're exploring the colors of love.

Red with Envy

Miles Redd's Pink and Red Room: bold and eclectic. I love the zebra print doors!

Chinoiserie has never looked so chic.
Looking to spice things up in the bedroom? A touch of red goes a long way and adds a little allure to an otherwise neutral palette.

Pretty in Pink

There is nothing more chic than pale pink and grey. Masculine and Feminine unite in this color combination and these rooms showcase how modernity and elegance create a very balanced beauty.

For a more retro look, try a bolder pink with black and white accents, instead of grey.

Flirting with Fuchsia

Pink, purple, red and orange? No, it's not Kindergarden, it's Kelly...Wearstler that is. Mixing colors and keeping it modern and ultra glam, I can't help but fall in love this room.

Show Stoppers

Last week I attended the NYIGF (New York International Gift Fair) where thousands of vendors from all around the world gather to "show" their latest and best designs to the press, interior designers and retailers. It is certainly one overwhelming show and by far the only good reason to ever visit the Javits center!

I attended the show with three projects I'm working on in mind and like always, left wishing I had hundreds.  You see so many interesting pieces and get so many ideas, it is hard not to want to buy and use all of them immediately.  In any case, here are the show stoppers in my opinion. Stay tuned for where they end up in my work:

OOMPH is new on my radar but the bright and preppy designs are great for adding pops of color to a room. Perfect for a beach house or to liven up any room.

Always a favorite of mine: Zentique! This year they showcased a few more modern pieces,  which I loved and am coveting for myself. But these classic pieces are always a dream come true.

I love every thing about their store in Tribeca and at the show I fell in love with the pieces below.

I love these modern pieces from Made Goods. Their designs always have interesting and clean lines and are easy to use in any space.

And here are a few random items that caught my attention for different upcoming projects, all from different exhibitors:
